“All five books are awesome to read with children of all ages. I especially like that they are very sturdy small board books, easy for tiny readers to hold. Tamir, who is 2 years old enjoyed reading them with me, his favorite book (of the series) is Celebrate! Bedtime. He enjoyed the colorful illustrations, fun rhymes and pointing out his similar bedtime routine in the book. He reminds me that he stands on his step stool and brushes his teeth like the children in the book. Tamir has never liked bedtime however this book is making bedtime a little easier. Even if we have to read it at least 4 times each night!
What I liked most about the series was a bit different from what Tamir liked. I loved the characters and beautiful illustrations. I enjoyed seeing a character that every child could self-identify with in each book which is very important for a child’s self esteem. In Celebrate! Bedtime and Celebrate Mommies and Daddies we learned how to say “goodnight” and “I love you” in 11 different languages. I only speak a little Spanish so the pronunciation guide was very helpful. At the end of each book there is “Helpful Teaching Tips” that will help parents/guardians and educators in navigating difficult subjects, like low self-esteem (related to the body positive theme in Celebrate! The Way I’m Made). The books in the Real MVP Kids Celebrate!series are the perfect books for reading with your children and teaching them all about diversity.
